Admin Addict New Owner, New Direction

I am the new owner of Admin Addict. Some might know me. For those that don't I've been building and running communities since 1994. I have a small network of forums and I'm proud to add Admin Addict to it. Enough about me. If you want to know about my history let me know.

I have plans for the community. The first thing I will be doing to change the forum software. Sometime this weekend, after I'm sure the DNS has fully propagated, I will be importing the site into IPB. A few weeks ago I put plans in place to start my own forum admin community. I had my eye on buying AA from Nick and in the event he didn't want to sell I was going to start a new site in the niche. I already have the site setup so I'll import this site into it.

There will be some changes to go along with the software change.

Some things that I will be adding/changing:

1. Link directory
2. Moving the articles to IP.Content and using it as the doorway to the site.
3. Adding IP.Nexus so the devs that visit AA can sell there services, skins and addons for whatever forum software they develope for.
4. Removing the ads. I only run ads on certain sites and then only to guests.
5. New skin.
6. 2 contest per year every year.

There will be more. I hope all of you bear with me as I move AA into the future. If you have any suggestions on what you'd like let me know. If you ask any members of my communities they'll tell you am always open to new ideas.

Updated the test site URL. Pointed it to the wrong server.

 

Just to keep everyone updated on the progress.

The first import, I always do one to test things out, is almost done. Once it's complete I'll make sure everything looks and works good. If it passes my inspection then I'll start the final conversion. During that time I will be closing the site for a few hours. I don't expect to do the final import until tommorrow afternoon.

So in the mean time head over to the test site and give me some feedback. Your feedback will help to shape the future of AA.

Welcome back. Yea thing are different and it's only the beginning.

 

The style will be changed. I have the new one installed and I'm testing it as I do what needs to be done.
