I stayed with 3.8 until I moved to XenForo in February this year. Nothing about v4 appeals to me.

I'm not a fan of vBulletin 4 either (even after testing it a few times). But, that said, I'm hoping to be impressed with vB5. For starters, think we can expect to see a new matching front-end and back-end theme used, expect also it will have more features than XenForo right away. I'm really hoping to be impressed by it? If I am, and like what I see, I'll be using it soon!

If vb5 can recapture the vb3 magic and deliver a quality CMS then all the other forum softwares will be struggling to keep up.

No idea? Until it get displayed for the very first time publicly at ForumCon. Who knows what it will be like? It really is a guessing game until the 12th June arrives. Will it even come with a CMS?

Imagine how p'd off the users who bought into the CMS thing will be if it's not developed for the future

Wouldn't bother me personally, I don't own full vBulletin Suit license with CMS Article thing. Only have license to use forum only.

Not bothered what others think, that's their opinion and not mine.

You asked whether i thought it would comes with a CMS and I said yes and gave you a reason why that might happen.

And? My response back to you was in reply with you asking this question about others. One I have no comment about, seeing as your pushing for a negative answer about vBulletin 5. Feel free to keep pushing for one though, I'm sure somebody will come along and bite your bullet soon.

I can't imagine them dropping the CMS entirely, there are many sites with masses of content in their CMS and they are using it very successfully.

Whether it will be developed further in vB5 is another matter. I notice in vB4 the CMS tab has now been renamed "Articles" (which I always had on my site anyhow) and that might be seen as repositioning it as more of an Article Manager than a CMS. Now article management is something it actually does pretty well and it seems to be what the majority of sites using it successfully seem to use it for. Perhaps that's the direction they are taking with it? I honestly do not know. It would frankly make sense though.

Both. I have 1 forum on VB3 and 3 on VB4. Until I'll be ready to invest some more in them and move to XF.

What are you on about? Where have I pushed for a negative answer about vb5?

All I care about and want to see is great software. What does it matter to me who comes out with it?

If vb5 makes XF 1.2 look like yesterdays news then I'll be back to vb again. Dont know about you guys but I just want the best solution for my users and me.

vBulletin 4.X on a couple, vBulletin 3.X on some others.

    My vBulletin 4 boards:

    http://www.goldhelmet.com
    http://www.sycamorepride.com

    My vBulletin 3 board:

    http://gajit.net
http://www.xavierhoops.com - Actually a friend owns it, I just do all of the tech stuff for him. It is actually in the process of getting a design similar to Gold Helmet and being upgraded to vBulletin 4.

I've also got a couple expired vBulletin licenses that are sitting dormant.
