This is an interesting concept that I've been pondering recently: Who do you think is better at managing and maintaining a community, namely dealing with trouble users: Male administrators or female administrators?

Do you think one is better than the other in any certain aspect? Or are they the same? Does it just depend on the individual and not the gender? Share your thoughts...

Male or female doesn't matter....common sense is what matters. Keeping emotion out of it, works. Keeping to the rules, works.

I find that female admins seem to have more of a grip, cos people fear that they will do something alot quicker than a male admin who would sit and think it over. It's a common misconception that women are more hot headed than men, and so I think they command the members attention more than a male admin would. Note; none of this post was meant to sound at all sexist.

One of the forums I moderate at, the admin is female. She's not your average feamle though. :P

She'll spend a lot of time before adding features, but when it comes to taking them away or banning, she doesn't wait. :D

I never really thought about whether male or female admins tended to do a better job. Gender norms would say that women are inclined to be better at socializing with members while men are inclined to be more technically oriented, but both aspects are needed to be successful as a forum admin.

I've met very few people who conformed completely to gender norms and expectations... though perhaps that's because they're too old-fashioned to be on the Internet!
