vBulletin 3x/4x owned license

Hello,
First off before you're 100% interested, this expired February 16th, 2010.
Therefore it cannot be transferred.
But don't worry, I can change the details and give you it. (I promise you, you don't have to worry about me logging into your account; this is what many people think when they sell it after it's expired)

I'm selling this because I don't need it as much as I thought, as I'm almost done with my forum system I'm creating myself.

Anyways, offer me the price and I'll we'll go from there.

$20 is a bit low for something that originally cost $180 that has the option to download 3x, or 4x.

The argument re: 4.x isn't a very strong one. This license is only entitled to versions of 4.x released on the date it expired (Feb. 16th) or earlier. As many of us know, 4.x is hardly stable, so anything that isn't eligible for future updates when (if) 4.x ever becomes stable, is worth much less.

Secondly, since the license is not transferable and you plan to complete the sale the wrong, potentially unsafe way (i.e. by simply giving the login credentials), the value diminishes even further.

Lastly, I'm pretty sure they won't let you change the contact details in the fashion you seem to imply. Your name doesn't just change overnight from "John Smith" to "Ashley James", for example. They will obviously know what you are "trying" to do and probably won't let it happen.


On another note, I thought somebody mentioned that there was a window in which licenses could still be transferred up to a certain number of days after expiration?

The reason I said I could change the details, was because I saw someone else say that, so therefore I thought you could.

Secondly, yes, I found out you can transfer within 90 days after expiration.
So that's a good thing.

According to another thread around here, you lose access to vBulletin.org when your license expires. Is this not true?

I've got a few from another place that will pay about $50. That is if they are still interested.

I'd like to sell it for a bit more though since I bought skins for $30 that I won't be using.
So basically, that price will just be taking the skins away other than vBulletin. (I'm not sure if that made sense)

You are saying that with the skins (please link to them), you would part for $50? And if the other party doesn't want it you will part for $35?

If the skins are good (useful to me), I will give you 50...

 

No, I was saying that others have wanted to take the vBulletin minus the skins, for $50.
I don't think I'm allowed to give the skins away said by their tos.
But believe me, I would certainly give you the skins, because I have no need for them after it's gone.
Therefore, I've contacted the admin of the skins (Two skins btw) to see if I could.
