    Geez...

People have been asking Kier for months and months, on twitter and elsewhere, if he plans to do something in the future which is forum related, he finally relents and hints that indeed he might do something and now some are jumping on him.

Unfortunately, the truth is, that more answers forthcoming from Kier, will just lead to more and more questions by others.

Take it for what it's worth, he's hinted that he might be working on something.

And I guess for the naysayers, Kier's hint apparantly means nothing, because they've already surmized that the project will amount to nothing - and for others like myself, Kier's little hint represents a little ray of hope, that the future of community software, probably just got a little bit brighter. ;)

Not to derail the thread, but...

...is anyone surprised that this possible little development hasn't surfaced on the vB official forums? Or did I simply miss it over there...

Why would they talk about it over there?

Why do you have to have an answer right now?

Obviously you've not taken the time to think that for whatever reason, he cannot come right out and say Yes I am working on a forum software, or No I am not working on a forum software. SOME of us are content to wait until the time is right. Why can't you?

Actually I would be surprised to see anything on the vB forum about this. My thought is that it would be deleted almost as soon as it's posted, if the mods are on their toes. ;)

'Cause it's kind of a..."interesting development"....don't ya think?

We're talking about it here, aren't we?

I'm with Peggy, the mods would probably delete a thread about it anyway. ;)

Who mentioned Promises Nick apart from YOU right there. I'm sorry but your posting a rather lame reply there in defence of Kier.

I was simply asking him for any Yes or No answer. Not to "promise" me the world with it.

If he says "yes, I'm developing something" then my theory still applies: people will sit and wait for it. Whether he says the words "I promise" or not is irrelevant; the effect is still the same.

Obviously I think it's an interesting development. I'm the one who "broke" the story on my blog. ;)

But as far as IB and vBS are concerned, it's nothing to do with them. I don't think they would delete a thread about Kier in the Smalltalk forum. But who knows these days...

I posted about it on vB-Germany and it was fine. But then again, vB-Germany has sane moderators and management.

The first hint I remember about this, I actually read on Kier's twitter account. Then someone posted the info about the message on vB Germany.

If that link was posted by you, then good on you and thanks for the scoop. :)

I guess if I had kiers exposure factor I'd have you on strings myself. LOL

I can't take this seriously which is why I'm looking at kier pulling those strings and most folks are dangling along like thunderbirds are GO GO GO.

    I love cheese. *hmmmmmm*

Funny. *hums tune to the thunderbird theme* :D

I'm pretty confident, that Kier is not pulling a stunt or "stringing" anyone along. ;)

Kier, if you are working on a forum product, just be sure to give some of us add-on makers a heads-up, if even in private, so that we can start planning accordingly. :D

    Crackin! :D

Due to lease issues the UK office still exists, but nobody has worked in there since June 19th. I've no idea what happened to James, I've had no contact with him since I left.
