End of year - topics to encourage posting and participation

    Just some ideas ... have some more? Keeping in mind that, regardless of forum topic, members' favorite subject is their own opinions and doings. ;)

    Don't post a poll. Polls can discourage posting, they don't encourage posting an opinion. Members vote, look at results, move on. Instead, ask several questions, broadly phrased, that encourage open-ended responses and discussion.

    Thanks for that, I'm using one of your ideas too.

    I was about to post a thread asking what you guys are doing to encourage posting/participation. My site is pretty mature now (4 years) and most of the problems have been covered in other forum posts so I'm finding that there are not as many posts as before so I'm always thinking of ways to encourage posting/participation.

    If anyone else has any ideas, please share :)
