...Or are forums just another (perhaps secondary) webmaster-related hobby of yours?

My first website was back when the electrons had to walk uphill both ways in the snow to get to the interwebz and was hosted by Digex. All HTML was hand done in a text editor as there were no WYSIYG editors at the time.

So yeah, it was a website, not a forum.

My first website was mostly created by hand, but I did use Photoshop for the menu slices.

I didn't start my first phpBB site until a few years later.

My very first website was an html family website on Geocities. There was a page for my family, then hubby, myself and daughter each had our own pages.

I had a second website for my photography business (I used to be a professional portrait photographer).

All done using the Arachnophilia html editor.

Depends. Do you consider having an account at Geocities a website or no? I started with a small page then. Cannot remember if Moved that information to its own site, or if I started the forum first.

My first site was similar to a blog before blogs were all the rage. All hand coded HTML, I used Front Page Express for some of it just because it was easier.

I remember building my own photo gallery by hand all HTML, thumbnails were resized one by one and I remember learning about the link target attributary so that all full size pictures opened in the same pop up window.

Gosh I feel old now, this was before Firefox, I remember paying for Netscape on CD.

After that I took a break till around 2005-2006 and came back to webmastering with a forum and wordpress this time around.

My very first site was a Geocities site, then I built a cheesy site for my fraternity. After that I made what can only be described as a blog to share info about my daughter to our family around the world after she was born. I then did a few sites for friends and family. Then 10 years later I did a short lived blog. Then I jumped to the forum after becoming actively involved in a few.

I had a couple of Geo Cities/ Angel Fire sites. In fact one of them that I created for the fire department I was a volunteer with at the time was up until Geocities closed even though I'd long lost the Yahoo account attached to it.

I think my first real try at a website was on my ISPs free webspace. Then I got frisky and bought my first domain, something like $25 a year through Yahoo and figured out how to forward it to my ISP's webspace so that I didn't have pay for hosting which cost a lot at the time.

Mine was html, hand coded with html and javascript, with Geocities too. Also had one with Fortune City and 20m.com. Then got my own domain when you paid like $70 a year for it. First content platform though was postnuke then phpbb.
