    Hi all,

I've heard a load of people talking about it (here and in other forums), specially about how close it is. That made me wonder why version 5 would be out w/o even a year from version 4 (which is not even "gold" yet). Is it due the fact many people got pissed with changes in vB?

    Thanks.

Vbulletin 5.0 will come out the second Internet Brands decides the old cow needs milking and not a moment later.

Yup, agreed. They don't have to stick to the proposed 18-24 month cycle. (notice the range on that baby?)

It'll be on vBulletin Solution's gravestone. vB 1- 4.1. May it rest in peace.

I think the press release will come when rays cabin is built in time for 5.0 :D

Could be sooner pending on how good the builders are. I'll give a good reference to the guy below. Heck, he might be able to fix vbulletin.

That's 18 months from when? :D Even if vBulletin 5 doesn't come out until 2011, the prelease will be in 2010 and, if you don't buy then when the price is only $190 to upgrade, the vBulletin 5 Enterprise Edition Suite upgrade will cost you $350 to buy later... that's a $140 savings!

The situation at Internet Brands is such a joke that even an obvious joke like this is completely believable by victims, err - licensees, of vBulletin. The $140 reflects a savings off of what the upgrade price will be later.

Note I did not give a start time on that....on purpose. I think you get my meaning, that even though vB stated such a point release cycle, it's still not even quick sandish (as opposed to concrete). Another way of saying...its up to their discretion/flexibility/purview.

There are no real numbers like Slinky has posted afaik. I think he's just stringing vBS type logic as far as I can tell. Point being...some ppl will believe anything that comes out of vBS. Right?

I did in under 30 days, and you could also.

    vb customer testimonial -
I lost 80 lbs in 1 month through the constant worrying and bullshit I was presented. I tried slimfast and those low fat diets you see advertised on tv to no avail. Want to loose weight fast? try the vb bullshit plan. It works wonders (log cabin not included).

Joan from new hampshire - My diet plan failed, I couldn't see any weight loss for months on end and through good ole vb PR I lost it all. Instantly.

BINGO. You win the prize. It's ALWAYS quick sandish and not by accident. What made me really laugh was reading all these people quoting Ray Morgan about vBulletin 5 in saying "we have coverage for updates for at least 2 years because Ray promised this..." and then made fun of the rest of us who realized the same as you.

Exactly. What is so funny is that you can throw any crap up against the wall and the crowd of vBulletin faithful will believe it. I was just havin' some fun like Shelley...

Here's a funny thought. Perhaps vBulletin 4 is being released really quickly so they can officially put an end to the world's longest 2-week only presale. :D
