    I just ran one of my sites through the Website Grader, and this was one of the resulting comments, which I found rather interesting:

    I didn't know that, and I'm sure many others didn't as well.

    Thank you so much for sharing this site!

    Anyone know how I could do that?

    I'm pretty sure this is right;

    create the following entry on your .htaccess file

    Code:
    Options +FollowSymlinks
    RewriteEngine on
    rewritecond %{http_host} ^darkperfection.org [nc]
    rewriterule ^(.*)$ http://www.darkperfection.org/$1 [r=301,nc]
    That should tell the server to send anyone who types

    darkperfection.org to Dark PerFectioN (DPFN) - Clan focused on Bungie's Xbox 360 game, Halo 3

    Best Regards,
    Francisco

    By doing this you are "spoofing" when it is set to expire?

    No, that was a reply to noles post where he asked;

    I simply hold him to to perform the 301 redirect via his .htaccess file

    Best Regards,
    Francisco

    Am I supposed to have anything in my .htaccess file? Currently for darkperfection.org I don't have one, and for my other site I tried it and replaced the URL's, all it did was not allow me to login.

    Thanks, I also didn't know this.

    I always only have it for a year or two in the hope that my domain hosting company will give me a $0.99 cent discount coupon sometime, then I'll renew it for 10 years and save $9 dollars! WOHOO! :) *seriously, I do wait for a discount coupon*. I don't think it's worth it in this case if it improves my SEO.

    huh? Here are my stats, although I have not really done much to work on SEO, at all or promote like many of you do considering my type of site.

    Some of the information makes sense to me...but in general are these stats average or what? lol

    Any other sites out there that does the same as Website Grader? I ask b/c it looks like the Grader does not target other facilities.

    I don't think this has anything to do with SEO
    Domain age is another story, but how long a url is registered shouldn't matter in the least IMHO.

    According to the Website Grader, Google may penalize domains that are near-expiry. :shrug:

    I have heard that for how 'old' a domain is, can affect your rankings, google will apply different rules to domains of different ages, that it's not uniform for all domains (however, this is different then when it will expire).

    Anecdotal information.

    My domain was set to expire in Jan. I just renewed it and within 2 days there was 3x the normal crawling activity over the site from Google.

    That's interesting indeed; I'll have to renew my domains far in advance then.

    Thanks for the info! :)
