I know I got involved in my niche because I didn't see another community out there that brought all the fans of "virtual pets" in one massive community, we rose over the years, then went back down. But, I've been promised that I'm 100% good now... So, my focus is to build the niche back up by providing our fans with quality content.

So, what made you get involved in your niche?

The fact that my son has ADHD, Asperger Syndrome, Anxiety disorder and Sensory Integration Disorder, among other things.

Since having someone to talk to and share with is very important for my mental health, I hoped that others would feel the same way. Slowwwwww going so far, altho visitor traffic is excellent.

It was something that I was cast into during the middle of the Cold War with the USSR and Russia.

Disaster Preparedness was something that my 1st and 2nd grade teachers talked to the students about. What a nuclear explosion looked like, what to do if there was a nuclear attack.

My grandparents and my dad taught me how to hunt and garden.

So I blended all of that together and started a forum.

Same here. There were already 2 established forums in my niche, but it knew I could do it better.

So far so good and 1/1/10 will be my 2 year anniversary.

I'm the same as many of you. I had started vbsetup because I saw the other options out there and knew I could do a better job then them.
Also I really like vbulletin and knew I could talk about it all day :p

For my sci-fi forums, I grew up with sci-fi, and I've loved it all my life.

For TeeGopher, Mark has been a t-shirt decorator for most of his life, and I've wanted to be (I'm a t-shirt and jeans kinda girl), and when he moved here we decided to start a company. I fell in love with it, and I wanted to start a forum for it. :)

Uhh, when I came back from USA(I was there for 2 years) to Puerto Rico(4 years ago almost 5) I had left everything, my friends and all. So I told my mom that I wanted a computer and some Internet, I couldn't go to any school because I was already college level so I had to wait till it was June(it was on April when I came back to PR) of that year so I could get inscribed in college and take the Puerto Rico College Board. SO, My mom bought me a computer and internet(DSL at that time). XD Let me tell you guys, I knew nothing about the internet at that time! I was 15(almost 16) and I never had a computer before that, so yeah. X3 I remember while I was in USA I watched a lot of Adult Swim and they gave a series I started liking, FullMetal Alchemist, that and my ex-boyfriend(boyfriend at that time) loved anime, so every time I visited him we sat down and watched a series.

Anywho, I liked FMA and I wanted to see it completely, but I never knew where to start, then a friend of mine told me to watch Bleach(another anime series) so I did on youtube. And a year later, I found a link to an anime site called Pisoga(I was 16 almost 17). :D Pisoga was the first anime site I visited and I watched my series there, not long I discovered Emi-san, she liked making graphics, and she was good in my eyes and many pisogians liked her work, but at December 2007, I went to USA to visit my ex(he was still my bf!). ^^ He wants to be a graphic designer, so he had a Waccom tablet, Corel and Photoshop 7(He had Photoshop Elements 2 too), he showed me the basics, when I came back in January 2008 I had his Waccom Tablet, and a Corel, Photoshop 7 and Photoshop Elements 2 CD.

Pisoga's admin started to abandon Pisoga, last time he logged in was August 17th of '08 and Pisoga quickly began to die thanks to Kuri(the 'replacement admin'), sooo I took interest on the webmaster thing and I started to learn HTML and CSS and how to work with MyBB. Kuri finally cracked and left and I was forced into being the admin of an anime site, but I liked making graphics, so in April '09, I started (with TomZilla back then) SetsouDesign.^^ There ya go! The history of FMB's anime and graphic lovin' adventures! My first anime site: Pisoga, my first Photoshop: Photoshop Elements 2. :)

It started out with me seeking support with specific parrot-related issues. I found some forums, became active members of them, and eventually thought about creating my own. I realized that there was very little information about Lineolated Parakeets on the web, let alone any forums, so it all started with that.

Then I expanded to create other forums for other hobbies. :)

It all started with playing Halo 2. I was a huge fan of the game, and I always used to play Halo 2 with my friends and have a good time. Then I found out that there was actually a site from the people who made Halo (Bungie). I quickly registered, and especially after the release of Halo 3, the site got an extreme makeover and is probably one of the most intuitive sites I have ever visited. When I noticed that you could actually create your own clan/group on their site, I went ahead and tried it out just for the simple reason of exploring what it was like. Little did I know what I was getting myself in to, and from 10.23.2007 to now, I can proudly say that no longer is Dark PerFectioN just a hobby.

    :)
