Are you a moderator on any other forums, or do you prefer to dedicate all of your time to administrating your own forum(s)?

No. I would not want to moderate on someone else's site. I don't have the time or the interest.

Currently I'm only a moderator on my own forum. Not sure whether I'd accept being a moderator on other forums though.

I used to moderate on a couple sites, but once your own forum gets busy you find most of your time is spent there. It also doesn't help when you run another 2 forums as well. :D

Everything I know about administering a vBulletin site I learned from the net and trial & error. I find it takes all my time and energy to learn some of this stuff the more advanced you get - and it's never ending, so previous moderating duties become a lower priority for myself.

being admin on three forums is enough

but theres a forum where the members think of me as a mod cause i wrote the faq, most of the stickies, tutorials on how to do stuff, cause theres only one mod who bothers coming on and that isnt very often. ive been there years and if i was asked to be a mod there, i would, cause someone needs to clean up all the spam and trolling, and move threads that members just post in whichever section they like. thats not likely though cause i havent even seen the admin since may last year (he must come on somehow though cause a new section was added a few days ago)

Yep, I mod on vb.org. It is interesting to go from an admin on your own site to modding on someone else's site. :) But, I enjoy it. I would continue to help there even if I wasn't a mod just because helping there helps me learn and then apply what I learn to my own site.

I moderate on a few sites aside from my own. It's a little different having to ask questions before doing something rather than just doing it but I still enjoy the learning and interaction.

Bumping an older thread. But it's a good discussion topic.

I started out as a mod before starting my own forums. I still mod one site from about 5 years ago, but, not as active as I once was (I log in every 5 days or so). Honestly though, between managing a few forums, dealing with domains, and work and family, and WoW, I don't have the time to spend modding a bunch of forums. I deal with the ones I have, and rarely mod my own forums. From the start I get a mod (usually the same guy that follows me to all my forums lol) and let him moderate. I deal with promoting and back end stuff. He knows how I want the forums run, and how to use his discretion. It's easier that way. He's always the head moderator so if other mods have questions he will guide them. He just can't be bothered actually admining a site lol.

Na, I just stick to my own site. I can barely find enough time to work on it so I wouldn't be able to handle a moderator position elsewhere.

I use to 'moderate' some (I was an end when I left), but due to problems between me, the new owner and some new staff, I chose to leave.

Forum died soon after that, because I was the only person who was doing work .

I help out on a few sites, I don't have a lot of time for all of them, but I try to visit each one a few times a week to see if there is anything I can help with.

I like moderating sites, It's always good to have opportunities like that in case others close up. It seems different than administrating too.
