If you can not afford a little rate hike, get you a second job, pick up cans on the side of the road, pimp your spouse out, cut your neighbors grass, wash your neighbors car/truck/suv, learn to monetize your forum a little bit better, but please shut UP!!!!

    </rant>

And that is all I have to say.

Yea, that was a pretty stupid rant seeing how the majority aren't upset about that 'little rate hike'.

    Wrong forum to.

If you can not see that the vast majority of the complaints are rooted in things more important than the price; like the direction the software is headed and the administration of that software then learn to comprehend complaints and constructive criticism better you can make new rants, but please shut UP!!!!!

This thread is not what I come to AA to read.

Trying to figure out how many threads I will be opening just to decide there is nothing worth my time, just more and more ranting about vB.

OK, all done with posts like this one. If there is nothing worth discussing, henceforth will just change the channel.

    I have ???? You are adorable to say that !!! :) :) :) I miss AA too, when I can't check in.

I will definitely check in on AA. Don't really have anything to add to a dance around a vB bonfire, though. Even though I was/am unhappy about some things, I am not on that page.

So where does the more technical discussion of vB 4 go these days? Behind the curve, here. That's what I'd really like to catch up on. :D

Of course I missed you! We have similar forum issues and solutions from what I can tell. We also both like to use a kind word and gentle guidance if possible as I recall.

I'm certainly not happy about a few things either but I'm not as upset as some, or maybe others were looking for something to be upset at. Regardless.

You missed the worst of it. Things are calming down, and eventually there will be tech discussions about vb4. But quite honestly in a few days "Public beta" (beta 3?) will be out so I'm not sure there is much point it discussing beta2 in depth. Perhaps I'll start a couple though : )

It's been less about the hike, people are used to paying more for a newer product. Also, if you're having to mow a lawn in November for new forum software, I'd just say find a better job or make more money with your site.

99% of the complaints I have seen are directly pointed towards the price changes.

I did not come here to read complaints about the changes to vbulletin - in fact I'am rather sick of it.

I'am sick of people bashing helpful members like Wayne.

I'am tired of adults acting like children and complaining about every little thing.

If you do not like what internet brands is doing, convert to invision power board and be happy.

Wow, good rant............NOT. What is your point? The money isn't the point, forcing people to purchase software they don't want or need is more of the point. You should probably go back and actually read the post's here and then start a new rant cause this one is way off par.

This is one of the most annoying answers to our complaints I see, yet everyone keeps saying it.

If you don't like your president, you just gonna pick up and leave your country right away? If you don't like your governor, just gonna pick right up? Probably not, you have too much time and interested vested into that area to just leave with wreckless abandon.

I don't see how you guys who are happy with vB (which is fine with me, as long as you don't think you're morally superior) can not get that just moving software isn't the first thing people want to do.

President of the USA can not serve more then 10 years or 2 terms.

As for the Governor - I vote against him in every election.

    Hmm......

    1) The entire issue isn't about that I can afford to be robbed.

    2) If you don't want to listen about this issue, don't keep reading in the forum which makes you angry and is supposed to be about this issue. Last I saw there are plenty of other forums to play in.

    3) Speaking of which, why are you posting in a forum you know you don't want to read about and telling people who feel like they were robbed to get a second job?

Perhaps this is the problem - too much righteous lecturing by people who just don't care about much else than what concerns them.

If you run a trucking company, and the price of gas goes up, your getting robbed?

If you have property insurance, and it goes up, your getting robbed?

If the price of food goes up, your getting robbed?

If you have children, and you have to feed and cloth them, they are robbing you?

Your automobile insurance goes up, your getting robbed?

Price increases are part of doing business. If you do not want to pay the increase of the price, get out of the business.

I don't recall myself ranting a lot, but I feel compelled at the moment.

When you write a check to your insurance company, do they tell you how long you get coverage?

I only want what i paid for. I don't want all of this stuff that is going on here an elsewhere and it is hard to move on. Yes i could purchase the new cms and again have access to my blog software, but i already paid. I feel like i have been stolen from.

$50.00 bucks is what i paid for my blog software, only to have it taken away from me for no reason, or any published reason, other then bob brisco wanting to make more money.

If they won't allow me to continue with my blog software, i have only asked to have my renewal money refunded. I haven't asked for a refund of my blog software, since it will stay current with my 3.8.

I could care less about the rate increases personally, i think vbulletin (jelsoft) has always done a great job and i always felt that i got my moneys worth. I can't speak for others but that is my entire situation. How come vbulletin can't just be a decent company and give me a refund? They are no longer giving me upgrades. Sadly too, i was looking forward to the next stage of the blog since the last release still isn't friendly to the forums software.

I mean seriously. Why don't you take your own advice? If you are so sick of hearing vBulletin rants on here and they are just ruining your life then why don't you leave.......?

    It goes both ways genius.

I also love how you are sick of vBulletin arguments but are now participating in one.
