Which forum software?

K so I am wanting to put a forum on another site of mine where I can set up a paid subscription for access to private downloads...and I'm not looking at going with vBulletin for this lol so, so far my best option to set this up is with IPB *except* I don't have the funds needed for that at this stage....if I were to look at Open Source forums, what would be my best bet for this?

 

You could use MyBB and buy MyIPN from labrocca (lifetime subscription is only 10$) and then set up a private forum for your downloads in which only those subscribers and you would be able to see.

Another option would be SMF. SMF 1.1.10 has a free paid subscriptions mod. The functionality is built-in in SMF 2.0. There's also a good free download system at SMFHacks.com (the "pro" version with more features is $65 and includes a year of updates if you don't like the features of the free version).

 

Ooo that sounds even better lol I was looking at IPB's IP.board and IP.downloads....so I will definitely check this out I think lol thanx
