We Need Your Minor Suggestions!

Nick and I are currently in the process of tweaking, adding, and removing things around the site. As you might have already noticed, we completely did away with the homepage we had and removed the tab in the header respectively. We have plenty of other things we want to get to, including a revision of our forum structure.

I'd also like to know what you guys would like to see as far as small tweaks go. Perhaps if something always bothered you, was reported as a bug and we still never fixed it, or just something that seems to be oddly missing from a website like AA. For now, we're not talking about huge changes. Just quick-fixes and additions/changes that can be taken care of in the next week or so.

Oh, and we're finally working on getting the skin to be fluid or at least wider! :thumbup:

In the thread, Kevin states there's a way to make it open in a new window so that AA doesn't 'lose' that visitor outright.

 

I have a small thing like that :p

When you click a resized image to show it in full size, if it's bigger than the width of the screen there's no way of scrolling horizontally to see it all.

Maybe get it to open the full size image in a new window?

 

Please fix the directory in IE. It's screaming for help.

Please bring back the Forum links in the Navbar! You know, where you hovered over the link and it would show every forum's link.

I miss it.

 

HOLY, the directory on IE looks like the tabs at the top were stamped all over the page. It's almost as scary as Hostel.

 

I think that might be a problem with their CometChat (or whatever it's called).

Other sites that have that plugin also have that problem, I've noticed.

Gotta get a side-scrolling middle mouse wheel. At least then you can side-scroll.

 

I can go from side to side using my mouse wheel (when you click the arrows come up), but it's a bit trickier when I have to use the touchpad on the laptop :p

I think it's more about it being an announcement and not a post.

 

Hm, thanks for pointing that out. I'm not even sure if the ratings are compatible with announcements.

 

I would enable the thanks mod in the new vb passionate discussion forum. It might cut down on some posting in there.

If it has already been talked about, please ignore the suggestion.

 

There's a couple of functions I'm missing here. Maybe it's just something I have to enable somewhere.
In SMF, I have a function, "Show new replies to your posts.". It's a quick way of seing the updated topics where you have been active. I'm also missing the ability to mark topics as read in the "You Have xxx Unread Posts".

 

"Quick links -> Mark Forums Read" ?

 

I was thinking on "Mark selected read" that I have available for unread topics as well as unread replies.
