    Hi there,

We have a clear policy on our board among staff on how to deal with suicide talk.

But a new one is talk of cutting and other self-destructive behaviors. It is quite devastating to see how many young people do this, but what is your experience with allowing these types of discussions?

Ours is not a board per se for teen talk, and I worry that talk of this will trigger people. We have moved any talk of body image and eating disorders to a social group and watch it carefully to make sure it does not go pro-ana and show any disturbing images, but... cutting is a new one.

    Thanks for any advice.

    What is your forum about?

Personally I'd let members discuss anything, providing it's legal. You can't protect everyone. ;)

Bit tricky then I suppose, if you personally as admin are uncomfortable with it you could simply tell your members you don't want them discussing it and moderate accordingly.

It's not as if it's part of your site ethos.
