Access Denied..

    Why do sometimes you get Access Denied on certain folders? Its my PC why cant i access them?


    Does that ever annoy you?

    This could be for a few reasons. Firstly they could be, being used by another program and your are locked out to prevent the program from crashing.

    This could also be due to viruses or some settings you or someone else may have applied to the folders.

    Could you be more specific on the type of folders this is happening too?

    might want to check your File and Folder Permissions
    if you get the message, your user/group doesn't have the rights to the file/folder

    Ive fixed it..

    Im the only user on this as its my laptop and im an admin and everything, yet by default it doesnt allow me to open folders..


    Just really annoying..

    I bet that would be annoying, I've never had the problem though.

    Care to share how it was fixed for future refrence

    Start > Computer > Right Click C Drive > Security > Advanced > Owner > Click your username > Edit > Tick 'Replace owner on subcontainers and objects'


    Done..


    Thats on Windows 7 so most likely Vista, not sure for anything else..

    Reason i needed it was to access the Call Of Duty 4 player files and re make my self level 55 temp untill i get Win7 Ultimate for xmas..

    Ganno be hard getting 55 again, so boring but ill re do it when i get ultimate.

    Not every user should have access to all folders, even if it is your PC. The biggest security risk of any operating system is using it as the administrator or root account.
