Banned For Nearly 30 Years

Just thought i'd let you all in on whats happening. Me and my " new " co-owner were reading a post one of the moderators put up. As we were talking we both thought the same thing, a ban. So then i went to his profile and banned him for two days. So today i get on and got to my co-owners website and see this

I'm confused. You banned your moderator for two days or your co-owner?

I'm sorry, but if you banned your co-owner without notice or discussing it (or at ALL if they co-own that site!), then you may have received what you deserve.

I don't understand this obsession with banning with little or no provocation, communication or at least trying to resolve an issue first.

 

They suspended the moderator for 2 days, but the mod in turn banned him and his co-owner for 30 years.

I only want to know how he could access his account if he was suspended.

 

Banned the moderator. Co-owner and I put the same words into the shoutbox. The moderator was an Administrator on my co-owners site.

Okay, this clears things up for me.

I'm still a little confused about being ban-happy. Only once was I in a position that I NEEDED to ban someone without any notice (other than spammers, which I guess this person was in a way).

I guess I just don't visit the types of forums that that sort of atmosphere.

Well i can still visit it, my co-owner owns the site, he backs me up

 

Why was he a moderator in the first place if you were planning on banning him after he did something wrong?

 

I really had no idea he was going to post that stupid stuff he did. He just put it up randomly. So we actually thought the same thing in the SB so he deserved the 2 day ban. While i was banned for nearly 30 years.

 

If this is GamingCube that this happened on, you may want to consider not having any moderators for now while traffic is low.

Once you build up a healthy memberlist and post count on your forums, you can then be more discriminating when choosing moderators.

Yes, you may miss some middle-of-the-night mayhem, but it would be easy enough to fix in the morning.
