Anyone have any experience with using the vBcart add-on to vBulletin? vBcover Forums If so, do you find it to be reliable/easy to modify/template etc? I'm thinking of buying it, but it will cost more than I bought vBulletin for, so I need some reassurance that people haven't had bad experiences with it. Thanks in advance!
I would stay away from any encrypted scripts I had a past client that was not to happy with their support of the way the owners treated him. Here is a review (not by my past client) vbcover review / HORRIBLE support - vBulletin Modifications
Oh dear. Truth be told, I want/am in the process of setting up a paid styles website, and I noticed that most others use vBcart. I was a bit concerned about the encryption, but I can't really find a half decent alternative. What makes vBcart ideal is the customer area, ability to restrict download access for up to 1 year, and that I know it can be styled to my liking quite easily (looking at other websites). Thanks for the post – I'll now read up on the links in the post above ^^.
Although, if you look underneath that review, one of the posters has a concern over whether the review is accurate or not? vbcover review / HORRIBLE support - vBulletin Modifications
IDK, I know that guy posted that same review on all the vbulletin support sites. If it's the only product that has what you need, I guess you don't have much of a choice. I've never personally had a bad deal with the developer, but that's one story that always comes to mind when someone is asking about the vbcover/vbcart products.
vbDigiShop by Mary - vBulletin.org Forum Code: This modification contains a vulnerability. It is recommended you uninstall it until further notice. - vBulletin.org Staff Erm... not sure? Is there an updated version?
Most of the Made by Mary addons include multiple vulnerabilities. If you use them your best interests are served by hiring someone to do a third-party security audit on them. Never looked into vBCart myself. If I used a cart, I would want something that can handle physical as well as e-goods. Plus it would need to be able to handle sales tax on a state by state basis. I am required to charge sales tax on internet sales to people living in California.
