student looking for help on research project

Hey everyone! I’m a student at UC Berkeley, and I’m working on a research project about forums. I'm trying to research how people use them and to figure out if there are any ways to make them better, more useful and more fun. A big part of the project is collecting a ton of data about what people think about the forums that they use; hence my post…

Also if you guys have any ideas about other forums (like AdminAddict) where I could collect info, I'd love to hear your suggestions.

It dont look like spam to me. Survey monkey is a legit site that a lot of big companies use.

Nah it's not spam. I've seen and done a few of these kinda surveys in the past for people.

Are you planning to publish your findings? If not, if we fill out the survey is there a way that we can get a copy of the paper when you have finished it? Seems like it may be really useful information!

wow.. sorry for not keeping up on the thread. this is not a scam.

i realize it seems a bit spammy, but i couldn't think of a better way to collect data. (BTW, SurveyMonkey is awesome for anyone looking to collect data)

Thanks to all those who responded! Keep them coming if you have strong opinions about forums, which i imagine a lot of you do.

 

Karl, will you be publishing the research findings, as RR asked? I too am rather curious to read your paper upon completion.

 

I doubt anyone will want to "publish" it. But... I am happy to share the results with people that are interested.
