There are quite a few ways of navigating forums for example one would be where you click the forums title on the index and then read threads from there, another would be using features like Unread Posts or Todays Posts.

Personally I find the Unread Posts most addictive, I believe it also can make members a little lazy and not so willing to delve into other areas of a forum, kind of like what you see is what you get.

How do you prefer to browse forums? The good old click on the forums title and read threads from there or the lazy Unread or Todays Posts way? :D

I really like going in and out of forums - this way, I can look at all of the new posts on one forum, and move on down the index. Alternatively, I used the "View New Posts" feature, and sometimes, even the "View Today's Posts" feature. All three are easy, some are just more time consuming than others - like manually entering and leaving forums. :p

I usually go in and out of them as well, I hardly ever click the new or unread posts links i like to find the topics that interest me, go make a post and check on em every once in a while.

I click New Posts, I find that so much easier. I dont actually remember how I used to navigate through forums before I found the New Posts button, but it has made it SO much easier.
If I had a Unread Posts button I would probably use that too.

I think there's one at the top right hand corner. I am using that and it lead me to this thread.

    Unread Posts Forever!

The "Unread Posts" button is the only one for me. It may be the lazy way, but I see all the forums in an organized manner. I just go down the list and see everything. It's fantastic.

I'm with 'ya on this. :) There's nothing like accessing all of the newly submitted posts by way of this feature - ease of use at its finest.

Unread posts is usually my first stop, unless there is something in particular that i need to ask or find out about.

I always use the New Posts feature first and find any topics that interest me. Once I've cleared that list, I go into the individual sections that I'm interested in and see if I missed anything.

On Elliquiy, members are clicking 'show new replies to your posts' between thirty and forty thousand times per day. It's an insanely popular feature.

Thats the thing, wouldnt that cause problems with a lot of members never ever manually entering the different forums?
