Just want some feedback on my domain/forum name. Digital Aspie - Index of /.

It's a forum dedicated to the Asperger's Syndrome community, Aspie is a common name we all give ourselves. And the word digital is there to make it more of a techie related asperger's community. Thoughts on it? What kind of skin design should I try and get for the theme of the site?

I really like that name; it's very unique and creative. As for design, I'm really not sure. I am not too creative, so I'm not help in that area. =/

As Nick said, the name is creative and unique! As for the design, it should be like the name, very unique, tech related of course and user friendly. Not many dark colors, maybe a hint of blue? Although blue is used a lot, you can find a way to make it your own, no?

Thanks for the advice. I'm either between IPB or vB. I have a owned license of vB, just not active since it ran out like a week ago. I really like IPB for some reason though, just personal choice I think.

I would also like to make a NC Talk forum, but I wonder if I could compete with city-data and all. And then, how would I incorporate that into my Asperger's + Technology forum? I like to have everything closely organizied lol.

How would a NC Talk forum do you think?

I'm not that familiar with Asperger's but if that's a common term then I think it could catch on well.

Sorry for the ignorant question, but what is NC?

See that little Location field in my profile? It says Raleigh, NC, which is Raleigh, North Carolina. Silly person :)

^^;; Yeah, although we're American territory, American geography is not something they profoundly teach here. I don't know many states and get confused with their abbreviations.

I like Digital Aspie. My 9 yr old son was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome/ADHD when he was 5. I commend you on starting something like this.

As far as NC Talk - there is a TalkNC forum that is pretty active. I had TalkOhio for almost 2 yrs and it never took off, because there are so many Ohio chat forums online. I'd do alot of research before I started a regional chat forum.

You might think about a local forum for your city instead of your state; if no one has made one yet, you might satisfy a need people didn't know they had.

My sister is an Aspie and might be interested in your forum :)

The only problem I have with starting forums is the promotion of them and that's the major part of it :(.

I can't decide whether to use vB or IPB3 for the forum. I could never really get a feel for vB, but I've tried IPB3 and I know just about everything there is about it and the default skin isn't half bad either, until I can scrap together enough money to pay for a decent skin designer to come in lol.

Would promoting the asperger forum at say meetups, etc work well you think?

Probably would. Also promote it at Facebook, on Twitter, in your sig line at any other forums you belong to, blog about it, get the link on friends blogs, etc.
