Does it make your community unbalanced if you, as an administrator, post too much on the forum? Even if your forum is very active with several other active members, does it seem odd to viewers when the admin posts way more than everybody else, saturating the forum?

What are your thoughts on this?

Yes - So stop it Nick!

Haha just joking - this is something that has always confused me with forums. I just continue to post because my site is a news service with an attached forum so I post all the latest sport news and announcements on there but I am not sure what others think.

I post however many times I see fit. If my community is lacking in activity, then I step up to the plate and provide it.

I do think this can get to be a problem; they know you're going to post the latest news anyway, so the members don't bother.

If the community is well-balanced (i.e. having other members post actively), then I don't see this as being a problem. If the administrator of a community was the only one making the posts (while having a large group of inactive members), then I could see this looking a bit odd to prospective members/guests.

I think an active admin poster just shows they care about the community enough to post a lot...:):):):):).....

Ya, but quality may seem to be the issue with some, right?

I do like seeing Admins post, but not if they are always the name in the Last Post By column constantly. If I see them flooding that column, then it looks to me like they are just trying to make the forums look more active than they are. I also don't like it when they use their account to post the RSS Feeds, cuz again it makes them look like they are trying too hard.

I think it depends on what type of forum you have. If it's an active forum and you don't dominate it. You can always disguise your admin priviledges too and show as a regular poster. That's why on the few I have admin rights I have 2 accounts.

I try to avoid creating new threads on my forum but I used to reply a lot in already opened threads.

How do people know your an administrator? Do you have an "administrator" tag under your name? Is your user title "owner" or "administrator?"

If so, then yes, it is possible to post too much. Members may be influenced by your title and badges, they may not want to push a hot topic with moderators or administrators, while they might push that same topic with a regular member.
