Hopefully vB 3.8.4 will get released tomorrow and it solves the problems (few minor annonyces) with using php 5.3 And i heard vB4 alpha will be released within 7-10 days maybe sooner
I dont think it will be a security release. Those are usually released immediately when the flaw is reported and patched. I think this is for bug reports, and fixing the way php 5.3 works.
let's hope. I don't fancy re-doing anymore templates this summer. A minimalistic update will suit me fine.
Well, I'm glad to see vBulletin is getting some kind of minor update before vBulletin 4, and I'm looking forward to the release of 3.8.4 tomorrow.
3.8 includes some new features and improvements. Nothing extravagant, but it was enough for me to update. (That doesn't say much because I always upgrade anyways).
Its 10:39 central US time and nothing has been posted on vbulletin.com yet. The vb home page says Latest Version: 3.8.3
I have a feeling they may not be sticking to the release schedule considering the work they are putting into vB 4. I'm not saying it's what they should do, but we never know what they will do over there.
Thank goodness it's not out yet, gives me some time to actually upgrade my forum since I was out for about half a day.
They had a small blow up today while trying to release 3.8.4 a little bit ago and will be letting it sit overnight and attempting to release first thing tomorrow again.
Out of curiosity, what will 3.8.4 actually fix? I didn't know vBulletin had a lot of bugs, let alone enough to warrant a release. Looking forward to it though.
I thought their new release scheduled called for a release every two months regardless of how many bugs there were? I'm probably wrong though...
The release schedule dictates that vBulletin 3.8.4 should be released on or before the last Tuesday in August. It is two months from the last release and malleable. vBulletin 3.8.3 was released in June. Anyway, here is more information: vBulletin 3.8.4 Release Chaos - vBulletin Community Forum It has now been released: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=315188
Well, its been released - time to upgrade. Now I just have to make the time to upgrade 3 forums, and check all of the modifications.
