Have recently started a new forum www.darngoodknitting.com/forum/ which is aimed at knitters and crocheters. We are knitting for charity - CanTeen - which supports teenagers with cancer. Would love to hear thoughts so far.

I would probably look for some vectors related to knitting on Google. Maybe search free knitting vectors on Google and see what comes up and edit them to your liking.

Definitely a new logo, and how about status icons with ball of yarn/knitting needles for the off state and something being knitted for the on state?

The white spaces in the logo look odd in some browsers.

I like the logo design but the font looks choppy: did you antialias it? (Unless you intended it to be that way in order to give it a more homemade look, in which case please ignore my comment.)

    Hi Rizzo,

I'd remove the 2 header images that are at the sides of the header.

Other than that I think your forum looks pretty good. Maybe add a splash of color in there some where else. But i can't see anything glaringly wrong with it.

Nice job and best of luck.

Ok I don't want to sound like a mumma's boy but after reading this I told my mum about it and she likes the look of it (and it is something she is interested in) and said she is going to sign up when she gets home today.
