What is this forum worth?

not AA but this one I'm describing...

About 5-10k unique views a day. its an adult vbulletin forum for sharing. it has a ton of room to expand. currently there are only 5 forums mostly set up for viewing. (shocked right? )

it can be expand for more user involvement/discussion/sharing.

there is NO advertising on the board which is impressive, except for the center banner above the forums. its currently being sold for $150 a month. there is so much room to sell ads without over doing it.

so what do you think its worth? :shrug: its being offered for around 2k.

 

I'd monetize it more before starting to accept offers and raise how much you make from it month to month, then take a nice lump sum at the end for probably 10k. Assuming you can get earnings to roughly 5-600 per month.

I once sold an adult forum that was 100% unique content as it was all user generated pictures with about 2k members for over 20k as it was generating over 1200 monthly revenue. I kick myself almost every day for selling it, but am glad I dont have to deal with the head aches that come along with it.

Ohh okay, well in that case be prepared for the all the possible head aches that come along with adult sites.

I'd say its worth the 2k then and might be a good buy.

 

thanks guys. the forum is basically an exact copy of another forum that has 300k members. the admin (at the site I'm looking to buy) basically copy and pastes the posts and share links from the bigger forum.

it has a different theme and whatnot but its basically the same as the larger site. although the larger site has forums for members to post and interact. which is why I think its a good opportunity to expand.

what exactly is a warez forum? I hear that term alot but never really investigating it much

 

LOL well the site gets those 1000s of hits a day. thats the value. to post pics and links from other sites takes all of 10 mins a day. I can handle that. and I'm hoping once I expand it to allow for more community involvment, my involvment will be less and less.

and I dont think the content is stolen from members area. its basically just taken and "shared" from another HUGE active forum

 

I very much appreciate your input, its why I posted this. I understand what you've saying but the site does get 1000s of hits a day, regardless of that fact that its copy and pasted from another forum. sure I can do that, but I dont have the user base ya know?

It's worth what it's earning. If that's nothing, for whatever reason, then it's worth nothing.

The business-side of that stuff is what it's worth. So you can double it in size activity and member-wise. But can you double the revenue it's making?

You need to find out if it has revenue available, so checkout what's going on money-wise, if somebody is making money out of it, then you need to control than and earn of it. If nobody is, then perhaps it's a site that CAN be popular, just not profitable. And there are lots of those.

So I'd evaluate it, at whatever it is earning annually perhaps.

Now knowing what you just shared with us, you can expect 3 things.

1. the site traffic to magically drop after you buy it
2. The $150 revenue you're basing the evaluation off of, to magically disappear
3. Having a hell of a time starting an adult community.

I wouldn't give over $500 for it, or see if you can give $500 across 4 months to ensure everything remains constant

Mate you made the right decision to not offer too much for it - it was definately not worth it being an exact copy of a bigger board.
