I will pay certain forums with 1000+ members to send out a site wide pm promoting my site any takers?
Sorry, my members would freak out and quit in droves if I did anything even remotely resembling spam.
My members love spam. In fact, some of them have cases of it stored up in case of nuclear war or some type of plague. --------------------------- When someone signs up on a forum, there is a check box "receive admins emails". By leaving that box checked, they agree to receive emails time to time from a site. Sending out a letter a few times a year is good to remind members about your site.
Do a search for Stile Forum <---- not safe for work. Sign up there and add a link to your site in your signature. Stile might be willing to send out a mass email, if you pay him enough. Also, go to orsm.net <---- not safe for work. And check on buying some advertising there. orsm has his email address posted posted towards the bottom of the page. You might be able to score some browny points by sending in some pictures first, and then asking about advertising. Both of those sites will give you targeted traffic. Stile probably gets more traffic then orsm. But orsm is a little more classy.
I send out a Mass PM 2-3 times a month, of course if someone has opted out of getting them they don't get them and each one has directions on how to opt out. However, I only do them for site stuff, no advertising. But for $10K I'd entertain the idea.
HA, ive done this before on other sites, people charged me aroun $10 anyone interested just pm me! i may pay more!
I wouldn't do it for the same reason Soliloquy (I nearly bit my tongue trying to say that name then) wouldn't. You want to ask Admins with similar forums to yours to do it if anybody, not just everybody. Perhaps then if you stuck a logo or something on your forum to theirs (whoever did it) you'd be cross-promoting properly and not just appearing to spam the members? I dunno, I wouldn't do it though. Plus if I was to do it, I'd only find similar members on my competition forums and they'd laugh at me at the suggestion. Any other 1000+ members are just random ones and although you'd get trickles of traffic you could be giving yourself a headache if a few of the annoyed spammed people registered on your site and became a bit of a troll because of it all.
