I absolutely love Letterhead Fonts; I'm still trying to figure out how they make those amazing logos and signs with their fonts, but each one is complex and detailed. What's your favorite font foundry?

Usually the same here, unless I'm looking for something specific that isn't on dafont, which is rare.

Yes, but usually if it's specific I'd check first on dafont, as you said, it's rare.

Those are great sources for free fonts, but foundries tend to concentrate on the work of one or a few font designers, usually with a common style.

Another great one is Scriptorium Fonts, Art and Design , he's got a lot of historical fonts.

That is indeed a great resource, but I'm finding the overall layout to be a bit confusing - it took me a while to get a "feel" for where everything is located.

I don't normally go looking for fonts though on the rare occasion I'll visit dafont. I normally stick with the generic type.

Thanks for posting these font resources, guys! I'm not a designer or anything but I do some mini-projects and always have trouble finding just the right font. These foundries definitely will help. :)

Le font jus can make all the difference in the world in a project; after looking at font after font for a while you really start to notice how badly most people use them.

So a "Font Foundry" is just a place to get fonts ?

I've never found the need to look for fonts. :)

I use dafont all of the time, my one and only resource for fonts.

BlamBot is another good example of a font foundry; the owner (Nate Piekos) does one thing--comic lettering fonts--and does it really well.

I typically use free fonts; Dafont is handy, but if I can't find what I want there, I just run a web search for it.
