What's the most you would pay for the perfect domain name?

Some time ago, I came up with the perfect domain name for a forum I wanted to build, but it was already owned by one of those "buydomains" type companies. I submitted an offer out of curiosity, but was told the owner wanted $2,000 and wouldn't usually entertain offers less than $1,000. I wasn't willing to pay that much, and ended up getting the hyphenated version of the name. To this day that domain remains up for sale. I sometimes wonder if I should try my original offer again :) How much would you pay for the perfect domain name?

    $10 : )

With a few exceptions, if it becomes worth it to use the 'perfect' domain name, I would just go through ICANN.

    $9.99. Seriously.

Okay, maybe I would pay close to $20 if I was talking to a legitimate human and not a domain squasher (the ones that want thousands), but not much more.

If it was the perfect domain name and I had the money? I guess I would have to take in account if it was going to be just a personal site or something take I would profit from. If I would make my money back just because of the great domain name, I guess sky's the limit....

I have paid up to $4000 for a single domain.

    You mean "squatter".

It depends - if it's a domain name that I truly want, I'll purchase it for just about any price.

To get Pisoga.com... *-* I would pay about anything, but the owner doesn't come online, so yeah. I can't have it.

Not all of us can afford to do that.

He doesn't come online but he still pays the bills?

The most I have paid for a domain is $25 mintplease.com, then i made that website turned around and sold it for $150 so it was worth it. When buying domains already owned you have to think are you going to make a profit?
