No I do not, if I'd have to do this for every new member I'd be going on ages and ages. I have an automated welcome PM though.

it is almost impossible to welcome all member personally if you have a huge traffic on your forum........so i believe using an automated PM is the best way to welcome every new member

I usually do not welcome new members, unless I am online when they join and I have my shoutbox open. Then I will often say hello and welcome to them.

The only other time I will go out of my way to welcome a member is if I know them. For example, I have been an admin for 10+ years, and people tend to follow me whereever I go. If this happens, I will send them a message thanking them for joining my new site.

Another time I will welcome member is when I know someone joined because I "met" them on another website. For example, if I am talking to someone here and I notice they joined my site, I will usually go out of my way to send a welcome.
