    If someone contacted you and offered $100,000 for your forum would you sell it or would you ask for more or not sell it at all?

    Hehe I do not think anyone would offer $100,000 just for me :p, but I hope you would cut me in on the deal if you were to sell me :)

    Is this like the joke about Winston Churchill and the lady who would sell herself for $1 million, but was offended at the suggestion she do the same thing for $1?
    Sure I'd sell for $100,000, are we about to quibble over the price?

    I would sell and take 1/10th of the money and make a fully customized "my niche" experience :)

    Yes, but spend about $50k into advertising and maybe make an advert on my favourite TV channel..

    Would depend on who was buying it and why, which would affect the price.

    As far as I am concerned I don't own the forum, my members do, I put it up for them.



    I would not however do anything that would negatively affect my reputation in my community such as not having full discloser (sp?) with the members.

    I'm with Abomination on this one. By starting a community as a hobby and a resource, it isn't something I ever intended to make money from, so selling it and closing up shop would be selfish. That's not the reputation I want to have.

    If anything though, I'd quickly set up an identical copy of the forum (from a backup) on a similar domain, and mass e-mail the members. Then sell the original site. :giggle:
