I've asked this before on another forum, but didn't get any useful answers. I'm trying to think up science-themed titles, but don't want to base it on supposed achievements or real life status (like Lab Rat, Ph.D, Nobel Prize Winner) because that could really confuse or mislead people. Any suggestions?

My immediate thoughts were based around the periodic table, however I was never the best at Science reminiscing back to my High School Days and sadly I can't remember why they are numerically ordered like they are. You could possible structure you're user ranks as if users are ascending through the periodic table. I'm not too fond of this suggestion, reading it back.

You have a valid point on the real life status based ranks. It's highly unlikely you have Nobel Prize Winners dotted around your community but I agree, the last thing you wish to do is mislead.

Of course there will always be some newbie who sees a rank like that and thinks it's real. I'll look into the periodic table suggestion, but I'm not sure members would want to be referred to as an "Inert Gas" :)
