    I just deleted my staff forum :/

    Now I have to go remake it again with the same permissions and re make those important threads.

    Oh the joy.

    :lol: I said this the other day around here somewhere. lol

    Wow, Sorry to hear you deleted it, Oyobiia. Hopefully you can remember whatever important information you had in there.

    You don't have a recent backup that you can restore?

    It is an opportunity to jettison the fluff :thumbup:

    I've been thinking about this often as of late. What is wrong with using an older database on the installation (testvb for vB) and coping & pasting the parts needed? The mod forum may not be as fast moving as other sections, but may have good reference material.

    I'm not sure how easy it is to import/restore just certain sections. I've never worked with ImpEx, so I have no clue.

    Do you have a backup? If it isn't too large, just open it in a text editor and take a look in the forum table.

    I mean if there is another installation of the script that exists for testing purposes, that database may not have had the forum deleted.

    Just use the test installation to jog your memory or copy/paste important things manually.

    I'm suggesting a 'low tech' solution.

    I managed to rebulid the forums. Most posts that were important are being made now.

    If you deleted the forum without deleting the contents, the old threads are still there. They are just orphaned. If you know the forumid of the old forum then you can probably do:

    update thread set forumid=NEWID where forumid=OLDID;

    Run the rebuild forum information and rebuild thread information counters and your threads should be properly visible and no longer orphans.

    I'm assuming that the deletion of the database was a mistake on his part.
