Do you have test accounts for all usergroups?

    I do, do you?

Every single time I change any forums, user groups, or permissions I log into each and every test account to be sure things are set up as desired. I cringe at the thought of information getting to the wrong people. I use vB but this applies to all software (I think).

Anyone else test all user groups?

Ok it seems I need to select a thread prefix to start a thread in here and vB is not a viable option in this section. If you want change it to vB and move the thread.

I just have a handful of test users for various purposes. If I'm testing usergroups I take one and run them through the gamut of groups that need testing - going through all 45-50 would be insane.

I create test accounts but remove them as soon as im finished with them, i dont like to think that i have other accounts that have any information such as my e-mail that hackers can get hold of.

I only have one test user and I just test things out as I need to. It'd be a hassle for me to have to log in and out of multiple test accounts.

I only have one test user account and changes the usergroup on that one if I need to test anything.

I have just one test user, but he can be repurposed for just about anything (as long as the members don't notice).

Hehe, I've once forgotten about my test user. I was testing out some moderator permissions, so he was listed as a Moderator on the "View Forum Leaders" page for a couple of months and some of my members came to me asking where this user "Test" came from and how come they didn't see an announcement about a new moderator being on the team.

You'd think with a name like "Test", they'd figure out it was a dummy account.

One test account where I change the usergroup to suit the testing needs.

You'd think, but they know me to be a perfectionist for most things, and therefore wouldn't expect it to be a mistake or something.

If I were to create a test account for each individual usergroup, my OCD would spiral out of control - I'd much rather use one account for all of the usergroups.

I have a couple of test accounts as sometimes you need to test things that require more than one user (such as giving reputation).

Why have an account for each group when you could just change the usergroup of the one test account.

Because there are many permutations of membership with various additional usergroups on my site.

Based on everyones responses I will assume that my experience level in such matters is quite low compared to others. However having those test accounts has helped me in the past to find certain usergroups having more permissions than they were supposed to. Specifically some people were seeing some of the private areas they should not have seen.
