I like to keep them all between 60x60 and 100x100. Anything that doesn't fit into the mini-profile is too big, streching is bad.

Well, I dont know if you noticed that the avatars and signatures are hidden from guests. Which is why it doesnt matter how big they are as its a members only thing. But thanx for the link :). I think avatars and all dont really matter that much as they most of the times clash with the styles and such. Which is why our smart people has hidden them unless signed in.

Really? LOL Oh well I guess they removed that. But it USED to be until they had 100 posts you couldnt see the avatars or the signatures. We had edited up the vbseo conditional sigs and hooked it to the avatars also. I guess that was changed.

one doesnt have avatars, one is 90x90, one is 100x100 and one is yet to be made, but probably will be 150x100 like the forum most of our members will be coming from.

i dont allow anything too bright and flashy, as it gives a few of the members headaches.

Well one thing about IPB is that you can't change avatar sizes based on member groups (something I miss from vB)
But my limit is 200 width and the height is auto-sized by my css
