Earlier this week, an Airbus A330 belonging to Air France of Europe lost contact with ground control. It is now certain that wreckage found in the Atlantic belonged to the A330. There have been no survivors found - it would be impossible for someone to survive such a crash. My heart goes out to all the families and friends that have lost their loved ones in this horrible crash.

Air France jet wreckage found in Atlantic, official says - CNN.com

228 passengers were on the plane, not including crew. Please take a moment to give these passengers their respect.

    RIP. :(

This breaks my heart. Boss and I were talking yesterday about how we almost hoped they'd been hijacked rather than gone down in the middle of the ocean.

R.I.P,. in God's loving arms, lovely people.

Yup, Peggy and I were going over it. Then earlier today at 4 AM I was reading our replies and DM's and I kept wishing it was just some hijack and not a crash. They're both bad, but the lesser of two evils I s'pose.

When I first read about this (by read I mean watched on YouTube), I literally thought to myself, "I hope this somehow turns into a real life version of LOST, rather than a crash", but unfortunately it didn't work that way. :(

I was really hoping they vanished in the Bermuda triangle and lived happily ever after with aliens instead. =( RIP to them.

Well guess what? Now they're saying that the wreckage that's been found may not belong to Air France flight 447.

Truly devastating accident... if it was an accident of course. But of course there are far worse disasters like the 9/11 and the Lockerbie plane crash.

Yes its very devastating to be family of people on those flight as I have cousins on there who i have not seen in years. Respect goes to those searching and hopes go to other families.

The interesting thing about this crash in my opinion was the plane fell a part in mid air? I pray this wasn't some terrorist attack but there was reports of someone calling in a bomb threat...different air port.

Apparently the wreckage found doesn't belong to AF228. Hmm.

It is a terrible thing to hear about. I have a friend visiting France for the summer and just the timing of it all serves as a reminder that even the safest forms of transportation can still be perilous.

Yeah. The oil slick wasn't from it either. Because from what I remember, jet fuel or aviation gas itself evaporates fairly quickly.

This is pretty eerie at this point.
