What is more your style, front-end admin work or Admin CP and technical stuff? Do you like working with your members, organizing community events, moderating the forums... or are you more of a tech admin for server maintenance, coding, designing, fixing odd errors, etc.

If you find yourself to be more of one than the other, do you have someone on your team that can handle the other jobs of being an admin?

I'm a raging extrovert - or in other words, a people person. Dealing with people is my thing... so in short, I'm a front-end guy.

Me too. I guess I forgot to answer my own question in my post, so I will now.

I'm more into these things, whichever category you want to put me in, but I believe it is front-end: member and staff management, forum moderating, participating in discussion like a regular member would, forum structure management, announcement/member communication management, support ("PM me if you have any questions" type thing), and idea development that I can send off to the technical admin because I really don't know how to do it myself. :p

vBulletin specific, I also like: managing the vBulletin options, usergroups, and modifications that I can simply download from vBorg.

Interestingly enough, one of the only tasks that I like to perform via the back-end is playing around with the options.

LOL, I think it's safe to say that my interests and preferences are fairly identical to both of yours.

I enjoy interacting with members, being asked for help, assisting them in any way possible, moderating the forums, etc. I am very much a people person.

But I also enjoy the back-end administration. I'm not the most advanced tech-savvy webmaster but I am able to do pretty much everything I desire to. If not, I just seek help on the appropriate support forums that I frequent.
Fixing difficult errors and quirks isn't my greatest area; I'm an extremely impatient person with most things and get frustrated rather quickly - so dealing with persistent issues isn't my favorite task. I'd much rather contract somebody to do it for me. :p

I hear you on that. I will try to resolve the situation for a short period of time, but if I have no luck, I'll get someone else to do it.

If nothing helpful can be found on there, the profuse swearing will begin. :p

Front-end by far. While diving into the Admin CP for random technical tasks is interesting, I'm much more interested in how members are interacting with one another, the site and how to improve that experience. While I recognize the immense importance of having a good back-end, technically oriented admin, I'd rather be a community manager.

I'm more of a back-end as I love messing with how the forum works, and soon I'll even be designing my own style of vB to look more modern.

If you've read my other posts, you probably already know that my forums basically run themselves. Very little moderating needed, and users don't require any stimulation. It's pretty abnormal as far as forums are concerned, lol.

As such, I'm more of a backend guy fiddling with things and adding small things here and there.

    Both.

I'm very much a people person, and an incurable flirt, therefore I like being on the forums, so I guess front-end suits me.

But I also like the tech side. I'm constantly playing with settings, moving things around, etc on both vbFAQ and Themes by Design. And I have been called the south end of a north-bound horse  (you figure it out). So I guess "back-end" fits me too.

I really enjoy the Front-end part, though I can also do Back-end, technical work as well.

Mega forums these days are built on - at least in some fashion - being both.

You need to be able to provide your members with something they cannot find elsewhere, but still want. That's difficult to find in a prepackaged setup.

I think my front end looks pretty damn good, nice and...

I'm more of both, but I like working in the back as well. I like communicating with members on a personal basis and not of a master;drone basis.

I do both I really enjoy the back end side of things and as our community are very good and require very little moderating I get to just join in with discussions mostly
