The "Why are you not joining my forum?" Game!

I thought of this a while ago, so I figured I should bring it back as the original thread got quite big, to my surprise.

I will give you a link to a forum and you will give one reason why you aren't joining it. This could be a suggestion, something that literally isn't working right for you, or that you have no idea what the forum is about. Then you post a link to your forum and the next poster goes.

Hopefully we can all learn something from this.



I will use AdminAddict Forum - Resources for Forum Administrators to get the thread started. Yes, if you're posting you did join, but just give a quick suggestion and continue the game by posting a link to your own forum.

For Walt Disney Boards... the forum homepage is extremely overwhelming and I can't find the forum listing.

It's a very well organised, clean and smart design and the layout makes sense too. Not cluttered or over done. The only reason I'm not joining is I don't play the game. Otherwise, I'd be all over you like a cheap suit.

Another clean looking site (even if the log-in looks as if it was bolted on in an awkward place ). I'm not a gamer, but your site looks well-organized and would pull me in, if I were.

I think some of our sites are in such a niche that we may not have a lot of interest in the actual forum topics.

The above site looks nice and well laid out, the main thing that would put me off is that it looks empty, no one online and not many threads but saying that, if I was interested in what the forum was about, I would possibly register.

I had a hard time finding a link to the forums - which is common with most sites that have a portal. I finally found it after scrolling down and looking at the sidebar. Viewers should be able to quickly get to your forum. Perhaps consider adding a link to the forum into the main header link area (where Main, Memberlist, FAQ and Search are).

Alrighty.

First thing that jumps out at me is how bad the header image looks. It gives the site an amateur appearance and looks bolted on as an after thought. Not a good start.

Also above the cut I have no real content. I have your welcome message which tells me what your forum is about. You might like to include a link in there to something which explains what a Lineolated Parakeet is, because I don't know. Of course this is niche, so 90% of your visitors will know what you're talking about, but I love birds, but I don't know what Lineolated is.

Below that, you need to change the settings a little bit on your sun forum manager (CYB?) as the subforums are in a larger font than the main forums. Makes the homepage look messy and out of control and is easily fixed.

Plus side: Colours are perfect. Looks active (despite no active members).

But I don't like the idea that I can not see any forums unless I scroll down first. I go on the site, I see one big image in the middle saying something I do not understand... (closes window) apart from that big image, It is excellent

Apart from using the default IPB look on a vbulletin forum which puzzles me I like it,

Ok I opted for Bird is the Word - but it is perfect and I ended up signing up anyways... for Setsou Design I couldn't find a link on your main page for the Forums and infact am still looking.

The layout however looks great.

So here is mine: Sports Force Interactive I linked directly to the forums rather than the website.

I do know that you guys wouldn't join because it is an Australian based Sports Network but apart from that fact!

 

Overall I like the forums, nice clean crisp style - both the dark and light versions.

It seems well set out, most of the graphics are awesome - however I do not really like the banner for you site!
