Alright guys here is my newest forum. I am launching it today. I did a facebook promo for three days on 16 keywords and $25 at c.10 bid and started getting hits pretty good so I decided to get it going.

Lets see if I get it filled up.

Please I do not want to open another thread on the exact same topic unless I have to, but I want to hear the comments you guys have on this.

This will probably take a lot of effort to run once it gets going. It will be uphill though the closest forum class to mine in Puerto Rico has 117K members. Yeah active too.

Looks nice though I have horizontal scrolling on my screen. While my monitor is 1440 X 900, I rarely open my browser to full size on it as it makes the lines of text too long and difficult to read. The browser is usually about 1100 pixels wide and this presents horizontal scrolling. If all your users have newer widescreen format monitors and browse at full screen then it probably isn't a problem. If however you have a variety of window widths, then the horizontal scrolling makes the forums difficult to use.

 

I've got horizontal scrolling as well and it is a major turn-off. I'm on a 1024x768 resolution.

Other than that, I like the color scheme (certainly is fitting for your subject :p) and the simple design.

 

The forum looks nice but it's in Spanish! I'm not fluent in that language, otherwise I wouldn't mind joining. Or is there a way we can translate it to English?

Wow! It's too big for my browser, but your header is really impressive.

 

Wonderful color scheme! I really like the header image, too. That glow is just... magnificent!

The sign up box is a bit flawed.

Your forums are darn cool! I like how you have the thumbnail of the avatar next to the member's alias.

Instead of opening a new thread I decided to revive this old one.

I was away for a while and now I am in Egypt. Can you guys see the same horizontal scrolling still?

I don't get anything on any of my boxes

I currently have 1600:900 res and it is flawless.

I think I got it fixed. It was another theme that was very complicated and huge. This is a different styles theme.

I love your rockers forum. It looks very impressive. Good luck.

 

Hey so guys. I was searching for another theme in VB.org and found this simple theme but I thought was very nice as a starting point.

So I decided to do some editing and before I strip the theme of it's essence I would like your opinion on how it is going so far.

This is a snapshot of how it is going up to now.

I love the banner, very nicely done. My only reservation is the round forum graphic. It's a nice image but it is a very prominant image and is repeated many times on the page so it's a bit "in your face".

 

I took your advice Hagar. I got rid of the red circles as forum_ol.gif and new. I went back to the original files from the template. I guess I will look for other imagesets to complement it.

One thing I did find out is that the template is broken only when I use the sidebar mod. I have it disabled now and don't think I will use it anyway but when I logged on at work today on an older monitor I could see the horizontal scrolling which is in fact a big PITA.

Thanks for looking at my site. Please let me know what else I can improve on the looks. This is my first ever attempt to modify a template. I know I need more experience but this I guess is the only way to get it.

BTW

Does anyone know how to get all of the rounded corners on the categories and forums? I would like to have that softer look in it. Please direct me in the right area.
