I used to use GIMP a while back, before I had Photoshop. For a free alternative to something like Photoshop, I think it is a pretty good program and easy to get used to, especially if you're just starting.

I don't use GIMP. I tried it, didn't like it. I do have it installed and will use it occasionally on a computer I never got around to installing photoshop on, but that's almost never.

I tried it when I was without my PS computer... worst month of my life! I know it has an amazing capability for a GNU program, but its harder to learn than PS!

I've used the GIMP, and I don't like it -- mostly because I never could get the hang of it.

I use Paint.net as a nice, lite free alternative.

I use Gimp I have a hard time with it from time to time but I think that it is user ignorance and I need to work with it a bit more. I am not much of an artist and have a hard time with any ap that deals with graphics. At times simple tasks take an hour to figure out how to do and i revert back to Snag it or something similiar. I hope to master GIMP so I cna use one app

I used it for a little bit. Once you understand the UI it's not to bad. Still use ms composer for a free alt program.

I've heard a lot of good things about GIMP, but I've never actually used it.

When I first got into graphics, I used Gimp as my free alternative. The interface and features are much like Photoshop and it's very easy to add brushes, texts and other modifications.

After getting used to Gimp, I made my way to the Adobe products.

Now, I can use both software's without confusion.
