Why, was it just the support problems you brought up?
Myself, namecheap. After years of godaddy loyalty, I got tired of their password requirement issues , dealing with pathetic support, and just awful service in general.

Since moving to nc, I have had no issues that have not been resolved, and knowing that Richard always pays attention to WHT's domains forum , a definite + for me.

The emboldened part of your post is why I left GoDaddy. I didn't have any technical problems with their service, but I figured their lack of quality support and general lack of customer loyalty meant that I shouldn't be giving them my business. Namecheap has been more than superb, and I can't recommend them enough.

Amazing! This is the ONLY forum that I've been to where there have been sooo many people that prefer NameCheap over any other registrar.

    I try to tell people...

    Yeah NameCheap! :D

Well, see, namecheap isn't as mainstream as godaddy, and, honestly I like it that way. I doubt you'll ever see a "namecheap girl", or that kind of stuff, but they deliver quality service, which is what matters most!

Ugh. Don't even get me started on GoDaddy's choice(s) of "eye candy".

Smart move, FMB. I'm sure you'll find that Namecheap is superior all-around. ;)

Namecheap. I tried GoDaddy. I ended up transferred my domains from Godaddy to Namecheap because you can do almost everything you want in the client area easily. And their supports are superb! Really superb.

I used to use GoDaddy, but then I found namecheap.

I kept all my domains at GoDaddy until they announced support for PIPA,SOPA, CISPAPPASPIP, and all those fancy bills.

Then i transfered the rest to GoDaddy.
