I can't stand GoDaddy's terrible interface nor do I countenance the owner's support of torture. Unfortunately I'm stuck with them again for two domains that can't be transferred out before their renewal date.

I also use GoDaddy. Reason why is they always seem to have coupon codes not to mention you can get a % back using FatWallet.

I use dreamhost because they do not charge extra to keep the contact info private like godaddy does.

I like Namecheap and Dynadot. Don't really prefer either, I like both just as much :)

Well it's official -- I am in the process of transferring all of my GoDaddy domains to Namecheap.

    Bye-bye, Godaddy! :D

Yeah, I still have a few domains left at GoDaddy - moving them all to NameCheap. I'm seriously considering buying a TuCows account, however.

I really love NameCheap. They're not as cheap as GoDaddy for domains, but not only do you get a free WhoisGuard for every new domain (and cheap extension prices afterward), but for a limited time you even get a free one year subscription for an SSL!

I have over 50 domains with them, also, so I do pay a little less than those with less than 50.

I am satisfied with Namecheap. I must admit that their service is above and beyond what GoDaddy has provided me with over the years. Not to mention, their interface is a hell of a lot more simple when compared to GoDaddy's - in a good way.

I never would have suspected Namecheap to be so good, but when I tried it out several months ago, I fell in love, so to speak. I've moved all of my primary domains there ever since. :D

I think the appearance of their website has an effect on how the service is viewed.

For example, GoDaddy was immediately inviting to me when I first decided to use them (which was years ago). Their layout was quite a bit less bloated (in comparison to what they're using currently) and the "feel" was attractive overall. Namecheap, on the other hand, looks rather bland upon a quick glance. Their management interface (back-end), however, is rather nice - I'm quite fond of it!

Ever tried dealing with customer support? Overall, GoDaddy is just unpleasant.

There is nothing factually "wrong" with them. This question can be answered by way of personal experience.

As Nick mentioned, their customer support is absolutely horrendous. It is possible to speak with a human being (rather than an automated bot), but even the support representatives use a rather automatic, lifeless tone. The assistance provided is clearly directly read from a manual, and what these people tell you can be found within GoDaddy's default support content - not exactly helpful.
