    Totally my fault.

I keep all of my domains under one provider so it's easier to keep track of. My mother had the company primary domain under the company email and guess what, never really paid attention to the email notices and network solutions let it go..

    I love Mondays...

know how you feel.. lost a .tv domain a few years back - still kicking myself over it.

Learnt my lesson, most my domains are renewed on a 3, 5 or 6 yr basis (cheaper for multi year too) and have auto renew enabled on them :)

I placed an offer on it, and they want $1277 for it. The business was not pushed with the domain name, it was just a luxury really, but it was on the business cards. I've already bought another one and placed the states initials on the end. I'm not sure if she'll fork out the money or not at this point.

My lesson now is to keep all domains no matter if they are my folks under my name so this doesn't happen again.

Ouch. $1277 is a lot to pay for not reading emails.

I have all my domains listed with 3 different providers. I have considered consolidating them all under one roof, but part of me thinks it would be better not to have all my eggs in one basket....just in case something goes bad. Decisions, decisions.

..or updating your credit card info, it was renewed the last time for 2 year, CC expired and bam.. just a long train of fails.

For your second point, I've never considered that option. I guess it's possible... but that just seems like terrible business manner for a provide to take (or lose) your domains that YOU have purchased.

I've lost hundreds of domains in the past.

The feeling of losing a domain name is horrible. Especially, when the domain you wanted is bought up and then marketed around at a premium price.

I've only let go of domains that I didn't really care for, but I can relate.
