How do you get members?

I have friends put links in their blogs, twitter, facebook and other social media sites. I also tell people in real life that I run a forum and would appreciate it if they join. I also put my forum's address on my business card.

 

I also ask my friends that run blogs if they could write about my community. It's all love because it also drives traffic to my community and gives me some extra backlinks. I thank @Brandon for writing about my community before.

I've been trying to advertise more of my threads on tumblr and on facebook. Our facebook likes have been growing and I've also been maintaining a twitter account that has 30 followers now.
