Windows Programming Question: Do you prefer XP or Windows 8?

Adding back the start button and booting directly to the Desktop, skipping the Metro screen, is the easiest customization in Windows 8. There are several free add-ons, although I went with a couple that were paid but cheap (like $5).

Or Apple's OSx or Blackberry...

Easier in Windows 7 than in XP.

To tell you the truth I used to love XP back in the day and then came vista and I fell in love with the Beta look, then came windows 7 which I am using now and I have gotten to like it a lot in terms of networking and the like and I am not really ready to try out windows 8.

 

Ahh, I didn't know that you could add a pack on to include the Start Menu again and get rid of the horrid 'made for touchscreen' home screen with all the big useless buttons.
Microsoft... I want my normal desktop back lol!

 

Yes, I set a new laptop up that way for a student a couple of months ago. It really wasn't difficult at all. After that, it was more-or-less like a Windows 7 machine except faster.

 

Windows 8 totally!
It is because everything what you need in a tablet can be provided by this operating system only!

If you are considering a tablet with Windows XP, I am not saying it is not good, but it is that much effective.
So, if you want to have a tablet, please make sure you have Windows 8 and not any previous operating system.

 

Well I used to prefer Windows XP because I could not longer run Window 98SE that was my very favorite, and couldn't because I lost the generic drivers needed to run in modern computers, as it is still capable to run efficiently.

However I had to stick with XP and specially after trying Vista that made me run back and downgrade. I tried Windows 7, but not in my own computer, and decided to stick to XP regardless Microsoft menaces to stop support, my XP computer fell off a table and is now broken.

Had to get one in a hurry, and this comes with Windows 8, which I have been blaming for a whole year, but now that I'm trying it, it's not that bad, in fact I think is much better than Windows 7 and also best than XP

 

I prefer Windows XP.
