    Thanks for clarifying.

    I asked him to check. I'm not pretending to be his employer any more than you're pretending to be the vBSEO network engineer in your next post, or antagonistic ombudsman at vbseo.com.

    How would you know who or what is being done by the Crawlability "team"?

    Calm down, he doesn't know for sure, he's just a major vbseo fanboy who hopes that "it's being looked into" in an attempt to try to reassure users.

    Let's just say that I have communicated with people who actually run the site, as opposed to people like you who only wish they did.

    dj has gone from being an open minded and objective person to pretty much shitting on Joe every chance he gets. It is getting annoying but this thread lost any sense of usefulness with its posts long ago.

    Remember the airplane scene with Adam Sandler early in the movie "Anger Management"? You reminded me of that scenes. Kidding. ;)

    Ah, so you are in communication with these "people". I'll assume you mean Andres.

    That's great. Please ask them when they plan to make the "official" announcement Andres indicated at vbseo.com.

    You would think vBSEO would make some attempt to let people know what's going on? If it's been going on for 24 hours now, first starting with database errors. Have they tweeted anything to reassure customers it's a tempt thing, only takes 2 seconds to do?

    Nope, nothing since December: https://twitter.com/vBSEO

    If your in communication with them @djbaxter. Then why not tell them to go tweet about it.

    I really do look forward to Ilea's next post about what's going on. Maybe she has secured a deal with Juan.

    If the vbseo forums do come back online, I've been thinking recently that it needs to be archived onto a mirror site as much as possible to preserve some of the support information available on there for future references.

    @Reflekt Glad it helped you :)
    I think if you forgot your password, it was enough to delete that password variable from vbseo_config.php. IIRC this should allow you to set a new one.

    @vgchat Yeah, me too. Never actually checked the source code before, though. :)

    @ all
    I updated the post over at WeWoTa's. Deleting those lines will drop the license key check so that you can use your rewritten URLs even if vBSEO thinks you're not really licensed, but now that their server is down, you need to delete another line. Otherwise, you will have loading times of 20 seconds until the server recognizes that crawlability.com is down.
    You have to delete this line too:
    PHP:
    $gq vbseo_http_query($qurl);
    It's in the same file. You may also comment it by adding // right before the first character.

    Assume whatever you wish. You can make your own requests. I'm not your employee either.

    Ok, just remember that if you decide not to share the information because you don't want me to know, you're withholding it from everyone else too. Your call.

    There's no need to make up conspiracy theories ...

    Our server went down due to a scheduled maintenance that caused an issue with our databases. Nothing related to DNS nor all the stuff you mentioned.

    Please refrain from making misleading statements about the status of the web server or the company on its entirety.

    Thank you.

    "Andrés - if you're following the thread, we'd be grateful if you could give us some insight on the status of the server."

    Yes that's correct although in newer versions of vBSEO it will be vbseo/resources/xml/config.xml

    [How-To] Reset the password of your vBSEO CP - vBulletin SEO Forums

    If you have forgotten the password of your vBSEO Control Panel (site.com/forum/vbseocp.php) and are looking for how to set a new password, please follow these steps.

    vBSEO 3.5.x and higher

    If you are using vBSEO 3.5.x series, please follow these steps:

    * First you must locate your vbseo/resources/xml/config.xml file.

    * Download it to your PC, then open the file with a text editor and search for something similar to this:

    <setting>
    <name>VBSEO_ADMIN_PASSWORD</name>
    <value>e7ea6f5be6c2d2d64538c7a6qwe87weas</value>
    </setting>

    * Yours will be the same except for the random string (e7ea6f5be6c2d2d64538c7a6qwe87weas).

    * Remove that from the line so it now looks like this:

    <setting>
    <name>VBSEO_ADMIN_PASSWORD</name>
    <value></value>
    </setting>

    * Upload the file to the web server.

    * Open your vBSEO control panel. When you try to log in, you will see the option to add in your new password and confirm it.

    * Finally, CHMOD the file back to 644 when you are finished to make your configuration file non-writable.

    vBSEO 3.3.x and lower (not supported anymore)

    If you are using vBSEO 3.3.x series, please follow these steps:

    * First you must locate your vB-root/includes/config_vbseo.php file.

    * Download it to your PC, then open the file with a text editor and search for something similar to this:

    // ****** CONFIG PANEL PASSWORD ******
    define('VBSEO_ADMIN_PASSWORD', 'e7ea6f5be6c2d2d64538c7a6qwe87weas');

    * Yours will be the same except for the random string (e7ea6f5be6c2d2d64538c7a6qwe87weas).

    * Remove that from the line so it now looks like this:

    // ****** CONFIG PANEL PASSWORD ******
    define('VBSEO_ADMIN_PASSWORD', '');

    * Upload the file to the web server.

    * Open your vBSEO control panel. When you try to log in, you will see the option to add in your new password and confirm it.

    * Finally, CHMOD the file back to 644 when you are finished to make your configuration file non-writable.

    If you follow these steps correctly, you will be able to reset your password and login again to your vBSEO CP.

    Thank you, Andres. But of course the rumor mongers will soon find something else to jump on.

    With all due respect, we are left with nothing but our creativity to figure out what is going on with vBSEO because you and your company refuse to give customers ANY information.

    Hi Andres,

    Several points of note:

    1. Thank you for the update.

    2. Nobody made up conspiracy theories. Since the CEO says the company is ending, closed up/blocked further sales, and the end of the company is being discussed, it's way beyond reasonable for people to wonder if the server is offline in relation to the situation being discussed.

    3. Sorry to see that you, as a support rep, are being made deal with this issue with no communication from the CEO.

    4. No misleading statements have been made about the company.

    5. Do your job. I don't need any tips on how to address you. The fact that nobody from Crawlability has made an official announcement to the community shows complete and utter disrespect for everyone. Is it because they haven't asked politely enough?

    You chose to participate in this thread. Don't be surprised when I address you directly.
