Best way to sell XF licence?

(Forgive me if this is not allowed here)

Where is the best place to try and sell my XF licence and what is the best asking Price? Would $70 be a good asking price? Too high? Too low? It expires March 17, 2014.

I am not 100 percent certain on whether i want to get rid of it or not but while I do like XF's look, personally the software is still a bit behind other competing products in certain features and the 3rd party community is just sparse/slower than say IPB(Idk about vbulletin, never used them).

I do miss my experience with IPB and I am contemplating about whether I want to renew my licence with IPB or not and just convert back. Only thing is, I have noticed a noticeable change in traffic(Nothing monumental but the past few months on XF have sort of boosted traffic though it could be something else and not the traffic)

 

Your free to advertise it on my board also if you want as a member, more places advertised the better chance of selling it.

I think $70 is a little on the cheap side myself. £70 yes, but in dollars that's only about £55 -60. Depends how fast you want to get shut?

Ha yeah 70 dollars(not sure what the International Equivalent would be).

I mean I am not urgent for the cash or anything but I am strongly considering the conversion as early as tomorrow(to give my members enough notice and all that stuff). Perhaps maybe it's just because i am aggravated with a few things that i'm trying to do(that i don't recall being that difficult with IPB) .

SO how does this process work exactly(never sold anything online so don't wanna get gipped lol)
Like how do i make sure the person is actually going to pay the cash when i transfer the licnece

 

Jezz, you've asked a question their. I did sell my XenForo licence. Rule of thumb, don't hand over anything until they pay you first. But you have to use XenForo ticket system to start the transfer to new ownership. But the license has to be "so old" remember to sell it.

So be sure you are able to sell it first before accepting an offer from anyone paid to you.

 

I think the licence needs to be 4 months correct before you can transfer, right?(I'll ask on XF site to be sure)
If it is 4 months, then i'm good since I got it on March 17

 

You might want to just hold onto it if you can. I have one, and even though I'm using IPB and happy with it, you never know what the future will bring and how much a new xf license will cost on down the road. I guess I like to hoard these things! LOL

 

Ehh i will probably do that I feel so paranoid trying to sell the licence to random people and i'd hate to get gipped

 

As an owner of such a site that caters to this, I can say that the buying/selling industry will cause your hair to turn gray. So many dishonest people in the world. It is a shame. And then there are the users who refuse to put the time in and perform their due diligence and wish to hold everyone responsible (but themselves) for the bad things that happen when they don't.
My advice if you do sell, use a 3rd party service such as escrow.com to be the middle man.

 

Side note, we also force sellers to verify their license ownership before selling.

I actually have a Digitialpoint account(i can't believe i forgot about selling there ). At this point, I'm going to spend the greater part of this week just trying to see if I truly want to worry about doing another conversion over and spending the time to fix any potential bugs/glitches between converting to Xenforo to IPB.

Then of course, I know there will be a drop in traffic as google and all that stuff works to reindex links and with College Freshman year starting up in September, I would like to try to enjoy the remaining parts of summer without having to give myself more work It may just be easier to try and find a developer to make the add-ons for me that I want that'll make XF better since I Do like XF, I just hate that it is a bit basic in certain areas.

So it really just boils down to I guess if I really WANT to reconvert and then I'll go from there about selling the licence(should i decide not to keep it). But glad i have a few options!
