What's your favorite code editor?

What's your favorite editor for designing websites in HTML and CSS?

I personally really like Sublime Text 2, it's free and it looks sexy, and the autocomplete for tags and other things is really handy, something that the all-too-common Notepad++ doesn't have.

What's yours?

 

GVim, it's free too, and available for about any platform.

 

Notepad++ is all I need.

 

I just use NotePad2, since all I really need is syntax highlighting.

I code everything else by hand.

 

I usually use Notepad for the smaller html files, and then Dreamweaver CS5 for the larger files since it seems better to view the file in.

 

If I have to code only the HTML and CSS I would prefer using Notepad++ but when I do the PHP and javascript, I use Aptana Studio which is freeware. I tried using the NetBeans for PHP too and it is much better specially when writing classes based codes

 

I on my sites constumo use Dreamweaver CS6, sometimes use the notepad to edits faster, when meeting a mistake and do not want to have too much work to open Dreamweaver

 

I was a happy user and promoter of Sublime Text 2. It is a very powerful text editor and it also has a real nice interface. It was my main editor until I knew of Notepad2. That text editor is the one with a real balance between ease of use and advanced features. It has all I need from Sublime Text 2 with the simplicity of Notepad. For me it is the best.

 

I like Dreamweaver cs6. I just finished a class on it for my web programming degree.

Previously I used notepad but I grew to like the ability to see the page without actually having to load it in a browser to see if I messed anything up.

Although I probably am a little odd since I find source view to be faster then the wysiwyg view. *shrug*

 

Since I do a fair amount of coding with PHP as well, I just use Aptana Studio. Its simple and easy to use for me and without all the bloat I was used to from my Dreamweaver CS3. I also like having themes. I like to surround myself with color. It helps with inspiration.

 

Does anyone remember Homesite? That was my favorite for a long time. Now I use Dreamweaver, which is a little too complicated in my opinion. But I really like the search-and-replace feature.

 

I literally only use Notepad++; I don't really code anyway, just make changes when a mod requires them. I know very little coding. xD

 

We do not need a full fledged IDE for HTML and CSS development. A text editor would do just fine.On my mac I use SublimeText2. It is superb. For windows, as many others pointed out, Notepad++ is more than enough.

 

Vim and GVim. I can use it on whatever OS I'm on, which is a really nice feature! It's also available when I remote into my VPS, so there's no hassle with that. Not needing a mouse is another great benefit. Plus, when people see me using it, they tend to freak out XD

 

I've only ever used Notepad, it's been my trusty little friend for anything coding wise that I've needed to do over the last 8 or so years.

I have got Dreamweaver but compared to Notepad it confuses me lmao.

 

Notepad2 looks ugly af and Notepad++ doesn't have the awesome autocomplete Sublime Text 2 does.

 

Notepad2 does not have the sexy looks of Sublime Text 2 but it doesn't looks ugly. At least that's my opinion. It just looks like Windows Notepad: simple and clean.

I have to admit that I'm using Sublime Text 2 once again. I stopped using Notepad2 because it is missing a very basic feature that Sublime has: auto saving. I realized about the importance of this feature the wrong way. A few days back my computer suffered from a Blue Screen Of Death and I lost the work I was doing on Notepad2. Never again! I'm back with Sublime Text 2!

 

Notepad++ gets the job done for me, with the comparing plugin for my XF styles, done deal

 

I've always used Notepad++, but I'm just having a play around with Netbeans at the moment for PHP and so far like it.

 

Well I also think Windows itself is ugly so there you go Especially the Vista/7 themes.

I've been testing a new editor called Brackets lately which I rather like.
