Sucks to be those webmasters who have a lot of ads on their websites because Google has announced this:

What does everyone think about this new change by Google?

A few ads on a website is okay but not to much and that is why I like this :)

You do realize what they are doing? They are saying this is against low value ads. Which means if you are using something other than adsense, your ads will be considered low value. They are just skewing the market towards their own network and forcing you to use their ads over other peoples.

While I agree with the lots of ads takes away from the site in principal. That's the way Google makes money too they shouldn't knock others for doing the same as them.

"Don't be evil" lolz good laugh there.

It's a good thing that they don't want you to be using more than one ad. Webmasters don't realize that they are not only driving people away from their site, but they are also driving quality down. And now Google sees the same thing, and starts being adamant about it. I applaud them. :)

    Quality > Quantity. :D

It's a very good Google's decision. I like ads, but "too much of something is bad enough'' (Spice Girls). :)

I have a site downgraded. I lost all of my SE traffic over a period of three days. I removed the ads that were above fold and removed a few outgoing links in the blog sidebar and things have slowly come back. It was pretty stressful as it was one of my better blogs.

Google has been on a serious crack down lately.

If you notice, they've even altered their TOS agreement to their adsense rules. I wonder what made Google all of a sudden go on a frenzy like this.

I guess I don't have much to worry about since I only have one or two banners on all my sites combined. (well, the active ones)

I don't like it, now google is try to mess with a website owners money by forcing them to only place a few ads on their site. It doesn't affect me though, but I'm sure it'll affect a lot of sites like those free movie sites that are loaded with popups and other ads.

I only run a max of 3 ads on a page, any more than that and I think it looks bad.

I can totally understand why they've implemented such a policy. I don't load my pages with too many ads and I always try and look at it from a visitors point of view.
