That's pretty much old news though - they switched a long time ago.

It couldn't of been that long ago, maybe a month or two?
The owner of WTF use to own the aliensoup.com forum that half our post came from :)

Well, why switch to Xenoforo? vBulletin is great hands down. I've always used it, didn't like IPB, and I don't seen Xenoforo being a vBulletin killer - just an alternative.

I sent Jason a txt after reading this & yes, it was within a few days.
I like what he did with WTF, he said xf was fun to work with.

WTF could be used as a showcase for Xenforo as it was really well done. But other than WTF, I haven't seen too many sites of that size making the switch. Which prompted me to ask the question.

I considered switching from 3.8 to Xenforo but wound up with vB 4 as the mods just aren't there yet on the Xenforo site. That's to be expected though in time I suspect XF will rival vB in the 3rd party mods department.

From the demo, I'm floored at the simplicity of the ACP vs. vBulletin's confusing (especially to noobs) backend. I'll be buying an XF license for a new site to get my hands dirty as soon some funds clear up.

I have a lot of unique features on my vb4 forum - I don't ever seen myself switching to XENOFORO - the design is nice and all, but vBulletin is the software for me.

I felt that way about vBulletin up until the release of 4. Now I'm with vBulletin because I'm locked in so to speak. No other system has all the mods I use. If XenoForo gets 2 out of my 3 must have mods I'll be moving to them.

I'm considering making the switch over to xen for GF.

How many ppl here have made the switch?

I'm tired of the lack of progress vb is making, plus I can use this license on another forum or sell it

I considered the same thing for DJ board but in the end XF just didn't have the mods that I wanted/needed. When they do I'll be making the switch. vB has become a ridiculously bloated dinosaur (IMHO, of course).

Whoaaa, are you really? I know vB4 has been painfully slow in development despite the implementation of the not so fast sprint releases.
I wonder what GF would look like as a XF board. Hmmmmmm. I'll be keeping an eye on GF more often.

You should always keep an eye on GF ;) :p

This is a friends general forum, I'm guessing it would be similar.

Also it's good to note that Jason, the old aliensoup.com owner has a site on XF that looks good to me.

LOL! Well of course I'm always peeping on GF.
http://thebestforumever.com/community/ is pretty cool. Nice and clean, and it does give me a good idea of what GF could look like powered by XF.
But what about your current addons? vB Experience, Blogs and Arcade? Do you think your members will miss them?

Those are all things I'll have to take into consideration.
I see Paul M released a vb4 to xf converter

    I like this

I would absolutely love to pick his site up, but until my house sells I have next to no money to spend on sites. :(
    I don't believe it's sold yet

I personally would give it a shot as a test forum only. If you like it then make the switch. If you don't then don't.
I would probably wait and see what IPB have in store as well because I am liking their forums myself. But yet again it won't be for aussiefooty.net it will be for something else that I have got planned.

We won't be going to IPB I do know that. It's a nice framework but I'm not interested in using it again.
I've always been interested in xf, we would do heavy testing before making the switch.
I'll let everyone know if I do pick up a license. :ufo:

PS..This is an Importer for vBulletin 4.x
