What's the worst spam you've had? Had spammers post in hundreds of topics? Have you had p0rn posted? My board rarely gets spammed, and it's usually cleaned up within an hour or so.
I've never had a spammer get 100's of post in, more like 20 max for me and that was a very rare occurrence. The worst spam I've ever seen in my years running websites was on this site when I first took it over. It was porn and it wasn't even good porn!..lol
Ya, when I ran my off topic community, we had a lot of spam porn. I usually see spammers rack up like 5 to 10 posts before one of my moderators or I bans them.
Yeah, the worst spam I've ever seen was low-quality porn and gay male-on-male porn. It's worst when they send it Via private messages, ( moderation tools can't clean it up... you might need to go to the DB and manually delete it )
The worst for me is the porn spam especially when they embed images. That pisses me off to no end especially when members see it before me. Links are bad enough but most people are smart enough not to click on random links but you cannot unsee images.
Don't forget the embed videos, I don't think 60% of the people that views porn spam on forums which doesn't allow 'em will click on links,
I been lucky spammers have only ever made 4 or 5 posts before we stop them so far I have not had porn and hope never to get any
Since moving to IPB not had a spam problem, the spam service bans known spammers before they can post.
Wow, that's crazy. I've yet to see those type of spammers. The embed videos sure would piss off a lot of users if they seen it.
